Lodging Options: Where to Stay
We chose to stay in a cabin just under 5 minutes from Deep Creek Lake, and honestly—it worked out really well for our family.
Our rental had:
- A large yard for the kids to play
- A fire pit
- A hot tub
- Indoor games and plenty of space to spread out
For a bigger family, having that extra space made a huge difference after full days outside.
Convenience was a big plus. We were just minutes from Deep Creek Lake State Park and Silver Tree Marina, which made getting on the water and exploring really easy.
We also booked directly through Railey Vacations, which helped us avoid extra fees you often see on Airbnb or VRBO.
For families, staying close to the lake (even if not directly on it) offers a great balance of convenience and value.
That said—if being right on the water is a priority, there are plenty of lakefront rentals with private docks that would be amazing for boating and swimming.
👉 Next time, we’d consider staying on the lake—but staying nearby was super convenient and often more budget-friendly.
