Park City, Utah, is one of the best ski destinations in the U.S. for families. During our trip, we stayed in Canyons Village, an area especially popular with families thanks to its ski-in/ski-out access, wide beginner-friendly terrain, and convenient village layout. With excellent ski schools, easy lift access, and family-focused lodging, Canyons Village makes planning a Park City ski vacation with kids simple, stress-free, and enjoyable.
In this guide, I’m sharing why we chose Canyons Village, what makes it perfect for families, and helpful tips to plan your own family ski vacation in Park City, Utah. From beginner slopes to après-ski activities and village amenities, this guide covers everything you need to make the most of your winter getaway.
✈️ Getting to Park City Canyon’s Village
We flew into Salt Lake City, which made travel incredibly convenient—just a 35-minute ride from the airport to the resort! We booked a shuttle service that handled our group and all our ski gear, so we never needed a rental car. There are several shuttle and ride services offering transport from Salt Lake City Airport to Canyon’s Village including Canyon Transportation, Utah Mountain Shuttle, and My Shuttle.
🏠 Where We Stayed
We stayed at Apex Park City Residences, a ski-in/ski-out condo complex that was perfect for families. Each unit featured its own hot tub, a washer and dryer, and access to a fitness facility and pool, making it easy to relax and recharge after a full day on the slopes. The property also has an attached parking garage and offers a shuttle service throughout Park City Resort, so getting around the village and to nearby lifts was simple and stress-free. It was the perfect home base for our family ski vacation in Park City, Utah.
Groceries for the Week
One of the best surprises of our stay was the grocery delivery service. We used All Seasons Grocery, and everything was delivered—and even put away—before we arrived. It made the start of our trip completely stress-free! We simply provided a list of what we needed ahead of time, and when we walked in, the fridge and kitchen were fully stocked with everything we requested. There was a $45 delivery fee plus a 20% service charge added to the grocery costs, but for us, the convenience and stress-free start to the trip was worth every penny—especially with kids in tow.
Toddler Essentials
We absolutely loved the Baby’s Away service, which made traveling with a little one so much easier. They delivered a pack ’n play, high chair, and a selection of baby toys right to our rental, so we didn’t have to worry about packing bulky baby gear or leaving anything behind. Setting everything up was simple, and it gave us peace of mind knowing that all the items were clean, safe, and ready for use as soon as we arrived.
Even better, at the end of our trip, clean-up was effortless — you simply set all the equipment aside, and Baby’s Away takes care of the pickup and cleaning. This service saved us time, stress, and space in the car, letting us focus on enjoying our family ski vacation. For anyone traveling with young children, it’s an absolute game-changer and made our stay in Park City that much more relaxing and convenient.
Babysitting Services
We used Mountain Side Sitters, a local babysitting service, which made our ski days completely stress-free. They came right to our rental to watch our 1-year-old, and on some days even looked after a couple of the older kids while we hit the slopes. Knowing that our little ones were in safe, capable hands allowed us to fully enjoy the mountain without worrying.
All of the sitters are background-checked, CPR-certified, and many are students studying early childhood education, which gave us extra peace of mind. They were friendly, attentive, and great with the kids, making it a wonderful experience for the whole family. Having this service available was not only convenient but also made our Park City ski vacation feel truly manageable and relaxing — a huge help for families traveling with young children.
What we loved about staying on the mountain:aying
- Ski-in/ski-out access ⛷️
- Fully stocked kitchen thanks to grocery delivery 🛒
- Incredible mountain views and easy access to dining and shops 🏔️
- Access to a hot tub on our deck and heated outdoor pool

🎿 Hitting the Slopes on our Park City Family Ski Trip
We spent four incredible days on the slopes, and it was amazing to watch the kids grow more confident with each run. They took lessons through the Park City’s excellent ski school, which provided patient instructors, small group sizes, and tailored instruction for each age and skill level. By the end of the week, the kids were not only skiing more independently but also trying new runs and techniques they hadn’t attempted on the first day.
It was such a rewarding experience to see their confidence and skills soar, and it made our time on the mountain even more fun as a family. Even the youngest learners were engaged and proud of their progress, and the structured lessons gave us peace of mind knowing they were learning in a safe, supportive environment. The combination of expert instruction, great terrain, and plenty of encouragement truly made our Park City ski vacation with kids unforgettable.
Highlights from the slopes:
- The bunny hill is actually at the top of the main gondola on the Canyons side of Park City! Lessons meet at the base and then the classes ride up the gondola to the lessons! Watch for moose on the way up 😉
- The lesson area has fun tree runs and moguls for practice.
- Wide, sunny runs with incredible mountain views 🌞
- Some incredible long black diamond runs for more advanced skiiers
- Great on-mountain dining—perfect for quick lunches or warm-up breaks 🍔🍟

🍹 Après Ski & Dining on Park City Ski Vacation
Most of our meals were made right in our condo, which was super convenient and allowed us to enjoy relaxed breakfasts before hitting the slopes, lunch and coffee breaks and easy dinners after a long day on the mountain. Having a fully stocked kitchen and a cozy dining area made it simple to cater to everyone’s tastes, save time, and keep the trip stress-free.
That said, we did splurge on a few special meals and treats to experience some of the local flavors and atmosphere in Park City. These meals added a fun treat to our week and gave us a chance to enjoy the resort’s restaurants without worrying about cooking. After a day on the slopes, we loved unwinding at the Umbrella Bar, where live music and mountain views created the perfect après-ski vibe.

The kids’ favorite spot in Canyons Village was Drafts Burger Bar — a total hit with our crew! The burgers disappeared fast, and the ice cream didn’t last much longer. 🍔🍦

🌃 Parents Night Out in Downtown Park City
One evening, the grandparents stayed with the kids so my husband and I could sneak away for a date night. We took an Uber downtown and spent the evening exploring Main Street—We stopped for a drink at a cozy bar, browsed unique shops for souvenirs, and soaked up the lively yet relaxed atmosphere that makes Main Street so special.
The highlight of the evening was a high-end dinner at Grappa, where we enjoyed delicious, thoughtfully prepared dishes in a warm, inviting setting. It felt indulgent and relaxing after days on the slopes, and it was the perfect way to reconnect as a couple while still feeling connected to the town’s charm. It’s a great reminder that even during a family ski vacation, carving out a little time for yourself can make the trip feel extra special.

Easy Group Dinners with Salt Box
Since we were traveling with a big group, we decided to cater two dinners from Salt Box Eatery and Catering, and it was one of the best decisions we made for convenience and stress-free evenings. The process was incredibly simple — we placed our order ahead of time, and the delivery was prompt and seamless. The staff provided excellent customer service, answering questions and making sure our order was exactly what we needed.
The food itself was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that satisfied both adults and kids alike. From flavorful entrees to fresh sides, everything was well-prepared and perfectly packaged, making cleanup a breeze. The reasonable prices were an added bonus, especially for a large group, and it felt like we were treating ourselves without breaking the budget. Having catering allowed us to enjoy relaxed evenings together in the condo, focus on family time, and skip the stress of cooking after long days on the slopes. It truly made our Park City ski vacation feel easy, enjoyable, and indulgent.
