Where to Stay in Watersound 30A Family Vacation
We’ve experienced Watersound 30A both by staying in a family member’s condo and renting a full vacation home—and honestly, both options work really well depending on your group size.
For larger families (like ours), a rental home is the way to go. Having multiple bedrooms, a kitchen, and extra living space makes a huge difference—especially for longer stays.
Many rentals also include:
- Golf Carts
- Bikes
- Private or semi-private pools
If you’re traveling with kids, having access to a kitchen made things significantly easier for us—we did most breakfasts in and a mix of lunches and dinners in and out to keep things simple and budget-friendly.

Getting To Watersound 30A Family Vacation
We’ve done this trip both ways:
- Driving from Cleveland – About a 15-hour drive.
- Flying into ECP (Panama City Beaches Airport) – Watersound 30A is roughly an hour from the airport, and renting a vehicle makes it easy to get around.
Both options work well depending on how much time you have and how much of the journey you want to include in your adventure.

Beach Tips for Watersound 30A Family Vacation
WaterSound Beach on 30A truly checks every box for a dream family beach vacation, with pristine white sand, stunning natural dunes, and crystal-clear turquoise water. The beach feels peaceful and uncrowded, making it especially perfect for families traveling with kids. Our kids could have easily spent hours playing in the sand and water, wake boarding, and shelling along the shoreline.
Real tip: The boardwalks in Watersound are long—beautiful, but long.
Renting chairs and umbrellas through La Dolce Vita made a huge difference for us. Not having to carry everything (especially with kids) was 100% worth it.
If you’re bringing your own setup, pack light or consider a wagon.

The pools at WaterSound are another big win for families. There is a large community pool available to all guests, with plenty of seating so you’re never scrambling for chairs. The pool area also has bathrooms, plus a pool bar and restaurant, which made it easy to spend a long afternoon there without having to leave. Many of the homes and condos also have their own smaller or private pools, which is a nice bonus if you want something quieter. We spent the second most time at the pool during our stay—right after the beach.
